Honoring Dr. Keith Dave Amos
October 8, 1970 – June 17, 2013
Dr. Keith Amos was instrumental in the start-up of the 1in9 foundation and our organization wouldn’t be here today without him. Dr. A shared with us his vision of helping the underserved here in North Carolina. He did everything humanly possible to assist women battling breast cancer—not only in the operating room, but out in the community educating, in the labs researching, or making rounds or phone calls well into the evening - always with a smile.
He was more than just a surgeon, he was truly a gift to the medical community, and more importantly to his patients.
We honor his life and his life’s work with each and every step at today’s 5K. He was a foot soldier in the war on cancer. He will forever be missed.
Compete for the McDaids Cup
Build a team, raise funds for 1in9, and compete for the McDaid's Pub Cup. The Cup will be engraved with the winning team's name and displayed at the McDaid's Irish Restaurant & Pub. A companion McDaid's Pub Cup will be presented to the winning team to be displayed at their place of business until next year's race.
How to Compete
Winning the Cup is based on a point system. For every dollar raised your earn 2 points. For every member of your team you earn 1 point. The team with the most points wins.
